The original of “She Turns Red” is still being caned by the likes of Laurent Garnier, Claude VonStroke, Loco Dice and Chris Duckenfield. Due to this appeal we thought it appropriate to quickly commission some fancy fresh remixes. The first rendition turned out by House of Black Dress is a formidable synthesizer love fest. The mastermind behind HOBD is Nathan Drew Larsen with past work on Gourmet, NRK, 2020 Vision and the famed Hooj imprint. His remix technique here is reminiscent of Francois K, staying true to the original music whilst adding and taking away with surgical precision. The result is a pristine yet frenzied revision that bubbles over with energy throughout the arrangement. Next up, none other than David Duriez takes the reigns to turn out some of his best remix work to date. Due to his busy DJ schedule and the running of his Brique Rouge empire, David doesn’t get much of a chance to work in the studio. For this reason we are besides ourselves to inform you that Mr. Duriez has found time to put together two completely different versions of “She Turns Red”! The Finger Mix is a spacious minimal workout that manages to stay away from all that styles currently overused adages. His ‘In My Hands Remix’ walks the line between house and techno riding a measured winding Tom Middleton style groove. He conscientiously works reverbs and delays into the mix to build and take away drama at just the right times; again Duriez the DJ comes right through. This package rounds out with a useful and quite pornographic Red (DJ) Tool that will come in handy for those third deck situations.
