A new joint label between two old friends in the business : Mazi & Duriez.
Fresh Meat is run from Chicago, produced in France, pressed in the Netherlands and spread from Germany by WordAndSound.
The track is called “Say It” and was originally written by Ralphi Rosario and appeared on Chicago’s Sunset Records in 1985. The cover versions appearing here contain no samples or loops from the original. It has all been remade & update by House Of Black Dress in Chicago. The track has proven to create huge stirs on the dancefloors after the few tests we’ve made on cdr around the world. When David Duriez played it at Club Crystal in Istanbum it was the highlight of the party, people went crazy !
Rave On !
On the flip, “HOBD Over Me” with his mysterious title is the perfect follow up to “No One To Care For”, with his dark yet sexy vocals and deep atmosphere over a simple yet effective melodic hook. This is Fresh Meat !
A – Say It (Nathan 06 Rework)
AA1 – HDBD Over Me (The Fantasy)
AA2- Say It (Nathan Back To 86 Mix)

Vladimir Janjic: "another bluesy stripped down HOBD affair. just can't stop playing fresh meat 01 for months, i bet it's gonna be the same with 'over me'. "

House Of Black Dress – Say It [Fresh Meat]
The fact that there’s not too much difference between the ‘06’ and ‘86’ mixes of this track perhaps shows how far (or not) we’ve come in the last 20 years. There’s no reason to include both mixes here, in fact neither sounds particularly typical of either era, although the influences are there for all to see. The jacking, robotic groove is enough to move bodies on the dancefloor, and will have spotters like myself hunting down the Ralphi Rosario track of which this is a cover.
Also included is ‘HOBD Over Me (The Fantasy)’. I loved previous B-side ‘Someone To Care For’, but the keys used here are disappointingly similar. It’s a shame, because this is a real barnstormer of a Wild Pitch-inspired track, with an urgent female vocal, and the only criticism I have is the similarity to the previous release. Looking forward to the next release, to see if and how this artist and label develop.
