Tommy Four Seven (United Kingdom) “Tommy Four Seven is just simply kickin' my ass right now – I'm even wondering why I should do music anymore. Be ready for a new kind of superhero, here comes T47!” David Duriez, Brique Rouge
The DJ
Recently tipped by DJmag as ‘Gotta Be Big’, it was evident from his first professional gig aged just 17 that the young DJ/producer Tommy Four Seven was going to be one to watch on the house and techno scene.
Tommy was awarded a residency on the spot at Kurruption and within a few weeks he’d had not only landed a second weekly residency at one of London’s top after parties Twist, but had also managed to secure a set at the Ministry of Sound.
Two years later and his popularity continues to grow, playing regularly at leading London venues like Turnmills, Fabric, Egg and The End alongside the likes of Josh Wink, Justin Robertson, FC Kahuna, Tom Neville and Mike Monday. More recently, he’s also played at the legendary Terrassa boat party in Paris alongside David Duriez.
With his unique blend of techno-driven house, Tommy‘s musical mature, technically astute and a DJ who is not afraid to bring different styles to his set. He’s also incredibly versatile and can adapt his sound to play anything from early warm-up teasers through to his trademark filthy late night stormers with equal skill.
The Producer
Tommy is also a successful and prolific producer who has already begun working on his debut artist album.
Not only has he had tracks signed to labels like Brique Rouge, Catwash Records, iO Music, Love Minus Zero and JM Recordings, but he has also remixed artists such as Mike Monday, FEX, Tom Pooks and Mark O’Sullivan.
Tommy’s tracks are consistently championed by some of the best DJs on the international scene with records such as ‘Eat Me’ and the ‘My Friend ’ EP on Brique Rouge making their way into the record bags of Josh Wink, DJ T, Tiga, Tom Stephan, Ralph Lawson and Rui Da Silva. Fergie has also been a strong supporter and played Tommy’s collaboration with Alex Parsons, ‘Chocolate Make Your Clothes Shrink’, on Radio 1.
More recently Tom Neville was so impressed with Tommy’s latest showreel that he signed up his debut EP “The Invisible’ to his label Love Minus Zero describing Tommy’s work as ‘absolutely awesome’. If that’s not enough he is already working on his debut artist album which he’s scheduled to release on Brique Rouge in early 2007.
Despite so much going on, this is only just the beginning for Tommy. With his outstanding style and energy, and incredible production talent, Tommy Four Seven is definitely a name you’ll be hearing a lot more about in the future.
