Fafa Monteco (France)
Fafa was born in May 68 in Lyon (South Of France) and raised in Marseille untill the year 2000. Based now in Paris, Fafa began to make a name in the 80s when he presented a radio show in Marseille, mixing Funk, Disco, Hip-Hop, and Dance-Music.
His famous Mastermix Show ended at the beginning of the 90s, when Fafa decided to imply in the Techno Movement, organizing and promoting many rave parties. In parallel, Fafa started to work on tracks and released his first techno ep in 1997.
But his career as an artist really took of in the year 2000 with the release of Lucky Star, under the name of Superfunk, which sold no far off 1 million singles worldwide!
Despite the succes, Fafa made no secret that Superfunk project was just for fun, and stopped quickly delivering and writting tracks for the band, wanting not to be considered as as a sampled disco house producer. His later solo productions, and remixes for artists like Moby, Cerrone, Shirley Bassey or Depeche-Mode showed the real talent of Fafa in deeper sounds. (His remix of "i feel loved" has been elected by the official Depeche Mode sites as one of the best remixes ever done for DM, and is considered now as a classic!).
Since then Fafa has djed in the most famous clubs all around the world, cementing a reputation of a jack-of-all-trades dj, playing the finest in deep-techy house, electro, techno and all time classics.
A list of few clubs where Fafa plays: Mykonos Cavo Paradiso, Singapore Centro, Ibiza Pacha, Riga Nautilus, Stuttgart M1, Paris Queen, "Redlight", "Rex Club", Sydney "Tank", London "Fabric", Bruxelles "Fuse", Miami "Nikki Beach", Lausane "Mad", Riga "Nautilus"...
And as a very prolific artist, Fafa runs too since 2001 two labels, Hypnotic and Goodtime, whose releases are played by the most famous international djs (Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Carl Cox...) and his show on Radio FG/ Paris, biggest electronic music radio in France, is quickly coming up on its second year as one of the most expected show.
